Amaroo Sanctuary is a carefully held space designed to support rest, reflection, and meaningful gathering. Set within the living rhythms of the cloud forest, the sanctuary brings together simplicity, comfort, and intention, allowing the land itself to become an active participant in the experience.
Every element of Amaroo has been shaped with care, from the spaces for rest and ceremony to the way food is prepared and shared. Sacred spaces invite both stillness and connection, and our approach to dining honors nourishment as an integral part of wellbeing.

Sacred Fire Circle
Temazcal
Rooted in ancestral design, our fire circle is where stories are shared, spirits are honored, and community comes alive. Surrounded by lush greenery and the gentle night sounds of the jungle, it is a portal for release, remembrance, and rebirth. We provide an initiated fire keeper to maintain the sanctity and safety of your ceremony.
Garden, Fire Pit & Pond
Chakana
The Chakana Garden is a central gathering space at Amaroo, designed for ceremony, reflection, and connection. The Chakana, or Andean Cross, is a sacred symbol representing the interconnectedness of the physical, spiritual, and ancestral worlds, and the balance between humanity, nature, and the cosmos. The fire offers warmth, illumination, and a focal point for gatherings, while the pond brings balance, cooling, and quiet contemplation.
The Land is the Teacher
Sacred Spaces in Nature
Private river, forest trails, and gardens weave through the sanctuary, offering quiet spaces for reflection and discovery. Guests are invited to walk barefoot along shaded forest paths, meditate beside the gentle flow of the river, or wander through permaculture gardens abundant with native fruits, flowers, and healing herbs. Nature is alive here — breathing, listening, and responding — and she gently invites you to remember your place within her.
